interview with a student

What is it like to study at our school? Find out in this interview with our student, Azhar Nessipbayeva from Kazachstan, who has recently become a Cadet Pilot! Congratulations, Azhar! 🎉💐👏

Q1. You came from Kazakhstan for flight training to the Czech Republic and Slovakia. How did you travel to Košice, and how is the connection with other cities like Prague, Budapest and Wien?

From the Czech Republic to Slovakia, we travelled by train. Travel time was 8 hours. The trains are very comfortable and with all the amenities (comfortable seats, food to order, clean toilets and reasonable prices). Also, we celebrated our Christmas holidays in Budapest, where we travelled easily and cheaply in 3 hours by bus. Also, we went to take exams in Bratislava; we used a domestic carrier, travelled by train in 5 hours.

Q2. For a person who is not local and is new to the flight school environment, how was your introduction at the flight school and were you satisfied with your training schedule?

From the first day we arrived at school, we were all welcomed with warmth. All instructors, technicians, and dispatchers were very friendly and tuned for productive training. Everyone tried to help, explain and support.

The schedule was very fair and thought out to the details since we were a group of 10 people, no one was ahead of anyone, and no one was behind.

Q3. When conducting flight training out of your home country, while spending most of the time at the airport, it is crucial to have a good team and friends around you. What are your feelings about the instructors and the flight school team? Did you experience any language barrier during your flight training?

For me, studying at school is the best memory. The friendly atmosphere at school could be observed in every little thing, as own cups, lockers, big kitchen with a view to Aerodrome.

I would like to specifically mention our head of training Mr Ivan Chvojka and Mr Dušan Šamko, program manager Mr Joseph Krupar and all the staff of Aerojob. Every instructor at school is professional. Of course, everyone has his method of teaching, but, all of us finished training with only good memories. I think Aerojob has a lot of advantages (as flying in CTR, new Vipers, good location) but the biggest advantage of OUR school was our instructors, their confidence and understanding which were formed from the first day.

Q4. Ground preparation is essential when preparing for flying lessons. Were you satisfied with the quality of the ground course?

Yes, we were pleased with the ground preparation. Mr. Hatiar often conducted it, he was solid in theory and helped to deal with everything that we did not understand. We always received answers to all our questions.

Q5. You have been flying on the newest Viper SD4 RTC, which was made especially for training purposes. How can you describe flying on Viper SD4 RTC?

Viper SD4 RTC is a modern aircraft that is well suited for initial training. Glass cockpit, security system (rescue, warning), it has all the necessary and latest navigation equipment. The aircraft is manoeuvrable, classic low wing configuration with wide g-load limits, which gives excellent safety margin for any unusual position recovery. Viper has unique aerodynamic characteristics; the behaviour of the aircraft lends itself to a student pilot. Flying on Viper SD4 RTC was a great pleasure!

Q6. There are always many new situations and experiences you as a cadet pilot gain during the flight training. What kind of experience and memories did you gain during flight training in Slovakia?

As we already mentioned, the best experience was flying with those legends of aviation who shared with us a lot of their different experience from every side of aviation. We always had a complete explanation from the military, acrobat, professional airliner and even search and rescue pilot points of view.

Q7. Conducting flight training abroad is not only about studying and flying but also about discovering a new country and meeting local people. What are the possibilities to spend your free time in Kosice when the weather conditions are not suitable for flying?

Kosice is a beautiful city in the east of Slovakia. Since our training fell on the period of the COVID19, we could not see much, but it was enough to understand how beautiful this area is. In the city, we walked along a beautiful square, ate delicious food, went to fitness, visited the library. We also managed to see the castles in the vicinity; the most memorable was  Spišský Hrad. During the winter holidays, we went to Budapest and had a perfect time.

Q8. What can you recommend to future pilots who are planning to start training at AeroJOB?

I highly recommend to everyone who wants to become a pilot or wants to experience the feeling of flying – enrol at Aerojob school. You will get incredible memories, high-quality training, and you can get closer to your dream.

Q9. Can you describe your best experience during training in AeroJOB?

The best experience – is flying at an international airport. We pulled up our English and aviation phraseology, and now it is straightforward for us to navigate the CTR and understand how everything works. During navigational flights, we flew to the international airport of the city of Poprad Tatry, and it was not only a good experience, but it also served as an aesthetic pleasure from flying in the mountains with an unforgettable view.
